The Power Plant Girls was borne out of necessity! Both Melanie and Ginnie were sick of the lack of plant based options in restaurants, grocery stores, and other meal delivery services. As athletes, they found their nutritional needs were not being met and developed The Power Plant Girls as an answer to the void in their community.
MELANIE FERREIRA, EXECUTIVE CHEF
Melanie was born and raised in Tiverton, Rhode Island. A self-taught chef, Melanie has had a love of cooking from a young age. Her favorite meals replicate her childhood classics. She prides herself onpreparing clean comfort food that makes plant based nutrition accessible for everyone.
VIRGINIA CARTER, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Ginnie comes from a southern family and came to New England from South Carolina for law school. A local attorney, she is also an avid distance runner. After a serious injury, Ginnie found the benefits of a vegan diet greatly improved both her recovery and athletic performance.
HOW IT WORKS
The PPG Kitchen opens on Wednesdays. We accept orders until Thursday night at 9pm for pickup Friday – Monday mornings at SALT cycle studio in Tiverton, Rhode Island. We also offer online ordering of various food items through our website. We will be releasing an a-la-carte menu later this fall so stay tuned for updates!
